PROVIDING HELP, SUPPORT AND GUIDANCE

TO YOUNG PEOPLE THAT NEED IT MOST

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The Arrows Group Foundation is proud to work a number of children’s causes around the world all of which are focussed on supporting disadvantaged children in having the best chance in life. We primarily focus on causes like care, education, employment readiness and mentoring.

We raise funds to support projects we care about and are also looking forward to a busy year of volunteering. Where possible we will look to utilise our expertise in the HR and Employment sector to support and mentor young adults into work.

OUR LATEST FUNDRAISING AND EVENTS

Our team will attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in ‘one go’. These are Ben Nevis in Scotland (1345m), Scafell Pike in England (978m), and Snowdon in Wales(1085m). To make it a real challenge, we have added a 24hr time-limit to our trek and the nerves are starting to kick in. WAR CHILD

War Child was founded in 1993 by film-makers David Wilson and Bill Leeson. On assignment in the former-Yugoslavia they were horrified by the violence and ethnic cleansing they witnessed. And especially its impact on children.

Our main objective is to increase the scale of our work and reach more children in conflict areas. In 2015, the number of children, young people and adults who received direct support from us was 126,000.

We aim to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out, and stay on to support them—long after the TV cameras have gone home.We help keep them safe, give them an education, and equip them with skills for the future. We understand children’s needs, respect their rights, and put them at the centre of everything we do. Whether it’s helping Syrian children access education, rehabilitating ex-child soldiers in the Central African Republic or seeking justice for young people detained in Afghanistan.

Udayan Care

An Indian charity who transform young lives by protecting and nurturing vulnerable children and youth through education and providing homes.

In India, 31 million children live without parental care, that is, they lack the overnight care of at least one of their parents. These children, who have been temporarily or permanently separated from their biological families, need protection in the form of quality alternative care. The grave reality is that only 1.4% receives any sort of formal alternative care.

Udayan Care have a number of “Udayan Ghars” which are small loving residential homes, where parentless, abandoned and abused children are cared for in a compassionate family environment.

At Udayan Care, they look after the physical, mental and emotional well being of children by addressing their unique health and psychological needs. Children that come to Udayan Ghars have often suffered malnourishment, illness and unimaginable trauma, which stems from past exposure to loss, neglect or abuse.

With access to mentoring support, parental guidance, nutritious food, education, extracurricular activities, clothing and physical and mental health care, the children develop into self-reliant, socially abiding and responsible citizens of tomorrow.
